Costume: In Xinjiang, all of the ethnic minorities' costumes are colorful and bright. Kazakh women prefer colorful dress with earrings, bracelets, white turban and other accessories. Men usually prefer suit, embroidered shirt or qiapan etc. Wearing embroidered caps is almost the most minority's choice, however the details of embroidered caps are different based on different nations and areas. For example, Uyghur like wearing well-embroidered caps, Kazakh girls like wearing owl feather hat, Kirghiz women like red velvet hat, Tatar women especially like wearing the hat that trimmed with beads. All of the minority people like to wear long boots in Xinjing. During festivals, all nationalities are going to wear their own national costumes to welcome tourists.
Foods: Foods in Xinjiang are particularly western region style. Kebabs, roast lamb and the rice eaten with hands are minority's favorite foods. Roast Nang, Roast bun, Ramen, Sanzi , Oily Pyramids, Thin-wrapper steamed stuffed bun, Milk tea are their traditional foods. The minority in pasturing areas can make milk and goat milk into eight or nine kinds of dairy products, which have very strong milk taste and full of nutrition.
Festival: Corban and Roz are the most important festival of Moslems in Xinjing. During Corban and Roz, Uyghur men have to dance "Sama" with strong and deep drumbeat. Besides, all national minority have their own festival such as Kazakh Nuoruz Festival, Mongolian Nadam Fair etc.
